Over and over again I would start and then quit my fitness routine. Every January I would resolve to eat clean, loose weight and never give up, only to find myself back on the couch. Can you relate to setting goals and not seeing them through? Can you relate to being a quitter? I had become a professional QUITTER!
Over the last couple of months the Dr.'s have been trying to diagnosis me.....however they are unable to come up with an actual diagnosis. The Doctors thought I had breast cancer that had spread to my lymphatic system, two biopsies with inconclusive results. My lymph nodes were so abnormal my Dr thought I had leukemia which again came back inconclusive. My lymph nodes where still in a hissy so the Medical team thought it would be best for me to see a Rheumatologist who informed me my lab values and symptoms appears to look like lupus but I'm not ready to formally diagnosis! The most recent possible diagnosis is Multiple Myeloma. Not at the age of 39...Newly married with three small kids that depend solely on me...the pressure is on!
I had decided after the Dr told me that my lab values are leaning towards Multiple Myeloma that I would no longer quit. The beast inside of me had awaken with a renewed mind and spirit. The quitter had now become the fighter! I had to make a decision to fight for my health, family and most of all Me! It was time for me to review what I was allowing to happen to my health.
I had formed several bad habits that I would like to share:
1. Not taking time out for spiritual growth.
2. Forgetting about self.
3. Fast food
4. Keeping too much on my plate. (Never saying No)
5. Not working out.
This list could go on and on, but I new I had to take control. So the first thing I focused on was my personal time with God. I have found reading my word, giving praise and reading personal development books such as I Declare by Pastor Joel Osteen has helped guide my daily decisions. I hired a personal trainer who is amazing at keeping me focused. She is not only my trainer but she in so many ways is the spark of light I needed during a rough season. It's so important to surround yourself around contributors to your life and not consumers. Finally I became a Coach with Team Beachbody.
My reason why:
I knew that I needed to make a change. I also noticed family and friends needed assistance with their health and fitness goals. I became a Coach with Team Beachbody to help others get off the couch, put themselves first and win the fight! I no longer see myself as a quitter, I now see myself as the
ultimate Motivator.
